picture perfect

Well, I am amazed how many pictures there are on a BCC search! Including pictures of fixing a leak from a waterpipe. Lots of the Brisbane Square building - I've never thought of it as a lego block before!

This is the kind of cool stuff you can find on Flickr... http://www.flickr.com/photos/percysnoodle/1434330006/ I really like this photo but I can't work out how to insert it in my blog. Having attempted to add half a dozen with the same result I have gone back to this one, which I think is a good representation of sustainable gardening.

So, I have added a picture from my own garden showing the beautiful Brisbane rain lilly in flower (which only flowers after a good downfall, in the right season) which is next to one of the vegetable beds (see the overflow of cucumber vine on the right).
Here is a photo from photobucket which has worked beautifully, thanks to Kath's tuition!

I will update this post with a photo from flickr when my accounts are sorted out.

First small steps...

Wow, how amazing is this, getting to learn all this stuff for work in work time :)

I can see how cool blogging can be for sharing information, however I'll admit I haven't read too many blogs as the ones I have seen have been say too much and not very interesting (like long descriptions of why a cooking recipe is so cool).

I want to give all this stuff a go, and see what I want to use for myself, and be able to help others using it if they want.

I love to learn new things, especially when there is a point to learning it - when it helps you achieve a goal (communicating with long-lost family members), not just for the sake of learning a cool thing (accepting endless waving bunny notifications on facebook :P).

I think a manager's blog would be great, and from the coordinators too, a nice informal update on stuff when there is something to share quickly.

Blogs to library customers could be very cool too, to highlight new services, or warning about increased library fees and other stuff they want to know, and maybe some random stuff they could be interested in.
